MOTS-c is a mitochondria-encoded peptide attracting interest in research on cellular energy and communication between mitochondria and the rest of the cell. Projects commonly explore metabolism, exercise response and adaptive processes.
Choose a 10 mg or 20 mg vial to suit the scale of the study. Because the material is sensitive to light and oxidation, it is supplied as a dry lyophilisate with batch analytical documentation.
Form: lyophilised powder, white to pale cream, in a glass vial with a butyl rubber stopper and an aluminium seal. Available variants: a 10 mg vial and a 20 mg vial of peptide. Purity: not less than 98 % by HPLC, identity confirmed by mass spectrometry.
Because the sequence is oxidation-sensitive, vials are sealed under an inert gas atmosphere. The batch number on the label matches the certificate of analysis supplied with the shipment; shipping is from a warehouse in Poland.
Keep the sealed vial at −20 °C, in a dry place and fully shielded from light – tryptophan residues photodegrade, so the vial should not be left standing on a bench in a lit room.
Laboratory reconstitution uses bacteriostatic water, added slowly down the wall of the vial. Dissolve by swirling the vial gently, without shaking. Keep the solution at 2–8 °C in amber glass or in a vessel wrapped in aluminium foil, and treat it as short-lived material; solutions intended for longer storage should be divided into aliquots and frozen, to limit the number of freeze-thaw cycles.
This product is intended for research and laboratory purposes only. It is not a medicinal product, a food supplement, a cosmetic or a medical device, and it is not approved for use in humans or in animals. It is not suitable for consumption, for administration by any route, or for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
The reagent is intended for qualified laboratory personnel working under health and safety rules and using personal protective equipment. Keep out of the reach of children.
Mechanism
